Building a Library

In my last post, I told everyone I had a very eventful weekend. One part of the weekend was the "book" shower that mom and grandma Cash's friends threw for us. There were so many people there and I got lots of fun books. Of course, since mom's friend Erin was in town, she got to come to the shower too. I can't wait to read some of my new books. Here are some pictures from the shower. Doesn't my mom look pretty?

More books, more books, more books!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So many fun people came to the party, including two of my great-grandmothers. Here is a picture of my great-grandmother Cash (Nanny) holding me at the shower.

And here is a picture of my Great-grandmother Rife (Bird) holding me.

Jack, Emilie, and Luke's Mom

After I had a bath one day last weekend, my mommy and daddy took a few pictures of me. Here are a couple of those pictures.

We had a very eventful weekend. The best part of the weekend was that one of my mom's best friends, Erin from New Orleans, came to visit and help take care of me. Erin is a fabulous mom of Jack, Luke, and Emilie. Jack is 3 1/2 and Luke and Emilie are one year old twins. I can't wait to meet them. Because she has a lot of experience, Erin taught my mom and dad a few tricks. She also helped mom out during the night and she made dinner. I know my mom and dad didn't want her to go. Thank you Kyle, Jack, Luke, and Emilie for sharing her with us for a couple of days! Here are a couple of pictures of "Aunt" Erin holding me.

My friend's hat

Tonight I went out to dinner with my parents and Grandpa and Grandma Cash. Of course when I say I went out to dinner, they ate and I watched. Well, really I slept through dinner. But the best part about going out was that now that it is getting cold, I needed a warm hat. My new friend, Sam Dancy, let me borrow his cool hat. I think it makes me look like a bomber pilot. What do you think?
I'm still working on that promised video. Look for it early next week.

Sleeping on daddy's shoulder

I thought I would show you a picture of what I do best -- sleep. Here I am sleeping on my daddy's shoulder. Leo, our family's one year old King Charles Spaniel, is on the couch with me and my daddy.

First trip to the woods

I had a lot of fun on Thursday. My daddy's office had a shower for me. I got lots of fun clothes and my daddy got to show me off to the people he works with. Don't you like my daddy's purple furry burp cloth?

I think I have a favorite season. It is fall. Of course it is really my first season, so I don't have any others to compare it to. But fall is a really good season. There's football (my daddy's favorite, even if his favorite team isn't very good and lost to South Florida on Saturday -- thank goodness he didn't make me watch that game) and changing leaves and apple cider (my mommy's favorite). There's Halloween and Thanksgiving (at least that's what everyone keeps telling me) and pumpkin pie.

We had a fun fall weekend this weekend. On Saturday, my mom and dad and I went to Art in the Park with Tom, Cyndi, and Sam Dancy. Sam is my new friend. He is almost one year old and his mom and my mom have been friends for a long time. While Art in the Park wasn't all important to me, I really liked looking at all of the people. Everyone says such nice things about me (like I am little and cute and all that). It was a beautiful day and my mom dressed me up warm with a cute little hat -- that says "on the go" -- that's me.

Here are a few more pictures from our day in the park/woods:
Fall is also a time for family. Here is a picture of me, my mom, my grandma Cash, and my aunt Tara.
Check back for more pictures and the promised video soon...

Waking up the neighborhood

Can you believe it? I am six weeks old today. I am growing up fast. Last week I went to the doctor and I weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces. My dad says I'm a great eater.
The last six weeks have been so much fun. I've done lots of neat things. One of my mom's best friends, Erin Brewer (the original "G") came to Springfield to visit me and my mom and to help out. G brought her son, Declan, who is four weeks older than me. Declan is the guy on the left and I'm the one on the right. G and Declan visited for about five days. They educated me on the finer points of life -- like how I should grow up to be an Oklahoma football fan. G also officially blessed my nickname, "Little G."I also made a new friend -- my bouncy seat. It has rattles and plays music. It bounces and it vibrates. How cool is that? When I start screaming loud enough to wake up the neighborhood (2-3 times every night), Dad likes to put me in the bouncy seat, give me my pacifier, and watch me fall asleep.Yes, I know, I am getting bigger and prettier. I have lost all of the hair on the top of my head. I only have the hair on the back of my head. I decided I wanted to look like Papa Satterwhite.

I know it has been a while since I wrote in my blog. I will try to do a better job in the next couple of weeks. I am also intending to add something new -- video. Stay tuned.
