After Christmas

My first Christmas is over. But I had so much fun and I can hardly wait to tell everyone about it. I know I haven't been on the blog in a while, but I've been really busy. Over the past 7 days, I've seen (and, in most cases, been held by) three great-grandparents, four grandparents, two-great aunts, two great-uncles, two aunts, one uncle, two second cousins, and my great-aunt Connie's dog named Booger. Of course, Booger didn't hold me, but he did bark at me a lot. I've also made my second trip to Harrison, Arkansas and my first trip to Gilardi's restaurante. Gilardi's is my parents' favorite Italian restaurant. I've had four present opening sessions (I slept through three of them) and I also got to "talk" to my Aunt Rachel in Thailand on a video-conference -- I wore headphones and made funny faces while she talked to me. So, I've been busy. But I promise to write more and post pictures (and maybe the long promised video) soon.

All I want for Christmas....

What do I want for Christmas? Well, no one is asking me, but lots of people are asking my parents what I want for Christmas. I bet their answer is clothes, clothes, and more clothes. My mommy weighed me today and she said I weighed 16 pounds. Can you believe it? Yes, I am a chunk. But in a good way.

Here are a couple of recent pictures. The first picture shows off my blue eyes. And yes, they are that blue -- daddy promises he hasn't done any tricks with the camera or with the editing software

The second picture is a picture of playtime. My playtime typically involves a few minutes of tummy time on my playmat, followed by a 15-30 minutes on my playmat batting the monkey and parrot or 20-30 minutes playing with the kick toy I
borrowed from my friend Sam. In this picture, I am on my playmat batting the monkey.

The last picture is one of my Granddad Cash holding me.

So what do I want for Christmas? More milk, time on my playmat, and more holding by my grandparents.

My First Big Trip

I know it has been a while since I have written, but I am a very busy baby. Two weeks ago, my mommy and daddy took me to New Orleans. My daddy had a meeting for work, so me and my mommy went with him and we all visited with Erin, Kyle, Jack, Luke, and Emilie. Luke and Emilie are 1 year old twins and they are so much fun. Jack is 3 1/2. They live in the garden district in New Orleans in a really cool house.

While we were in New Orleans, we did lots of fun stuff. We took walks and played and mommy and daddy even got to go out for a nice meal.

Here is a picture of me, Erin, and Emilie.

We left for New Orleans just in time to miss a big ice and snow storm in Springfield. We also just missed an airport-closing thunderstorm in Dallas. On our second day in New Orleans, the people on the radio kept talking about how cold it was -- it was about 40 degrees outside and it never got below freezing. I thought about telling everyone "you think this is cold -- you should try my room in Springfield when it is 10 degrees outside." But since I don't talk, I didn't tell anyone anything. Anyway, because it was cold, we all got to wear hats when we went on our walk. Maybe when I grow up and get to be one year old I will get to have cool hats like Luke and Emilie:

One day while we were in New Orleans, my daddy put me in Emilie's high chair. I sort of liked it. If you look close, you'll see that it is really my first "lazy boy."

We had a lot of "play time" while we were in New Orleans. Actually, Luke, Emilie, and Jack had a lot of play time, and I did a lot of watching play time. But I WANTED to play -- promise. Here is a picture of mommy and Jack.

We had a lot of fun on our trip to New Orleans. I can't wait to go back and for my next trip, wherever that is. Thank you Erin, Kyle, Luke, Emilie, and Jack for sharing your house with us.

Now it is time to get excited about my first Christmas. My MeMe and Papa are coming from Baltimore and my Aunt Jessica and Uncle Rhye are coming from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I can't wait!!!!!
