The Lost Key, part two

If you haven't read The Lost Key, part one, please read the last post before reading this one. Like I told you earlier today, my mommy and daddy and me went on vacation to Florida last week. For anyone who doesn't know, the Lost Key is an island 45 minutes west of Pensacola, Florida, right before the Alabama line. Daddy promised to take me to the Flori-bama in 20 years -- he said the Flori-bama is a very nice establishment that is on the border of Florida and Alabama. Half of the building is on the Florida side and half is on the Alabama side.

My mommy told me that she really likes visiting Ms. Erin because she gets to see Jack and "the babies." "The babies" are Luke and Emilie. Here is a picture of Mommy holding Emilie and getting a hug from Jack.
Mommy is Emilie's godmother. I'm not real sure what that means, but Mommy said she would explain it to me when I get a little older. Mommy and Emilie play a lot and here is a picture of their best Blues Brothers imitation.
I think that Ms. Emilie is really cute. If she would let me, I would call her my girlfriend. I really like older women.
Emilie, Jack, and Luke are a lot of fun to play with. Here they are, all sitting in their chairs waiting for an afternoon snack on the beach.
I liked playing with sand buckets. I would fill them up with sand (not really, but I tried, really I did) and dump them out. Or, when I was in the pool, I filled them up with water and dumped them out. In this picture, I'm wearing Luke's hat. He was very nice to let me borrow it.
If I learned one thing on our trip to the Lost Key, it was that three babies can fit in a kiddie pool at the same time, and they all can play with toys at the same time. But, it can get a little crazy, especially when Luke starts splashing and dumping water.
Well, that is it for the Lost Key and our summer beach vacation. Hope you enjoyed my pictures.

The Lost Key, part one

Last week, mommy and daddy took me to the Lost Key in Florida. The island's real name is Perdido Key, but daddy kept calling it the lost key. He told me that when I go to Kindergarten (and learn Spanish), I will understand. Anyway, we went to visit my mommy's best friend from law school, Erin, and her family. We had so much fun. I hung out with Mr. Kyle and Jack, Luke and Emilie. You may remember Jack, Luke and Emilie from our visit to New Orleans last fall. Jack is 4 years old and Luke and Emilie are 22 month old twins. We were at the Lost Key for four days and we went to the beach every single day. I love the beach. I played with buckets and shovels and I even ate sand. I ate a lot of sand.
Jack was very fun to play with. He let me borrow lots of his toys and he gave me hugs. I like him a lot. He even let me play with his new garbage truck. It made horn sounds and talked out loud.
Sometimes I like to try to grab the camera when mommy is taking my picture. In this picture, I look like I am trying to fly. The picture also gives you a good view of my very blonde hair!
Luke also was a very fun playmate. He is full of energy and he is very loud! His favorite word is "jump" and he likes to jump up and down when saying jump. He also shared his toys with me.
My daddy took me out in the water. It was sooooo fun. It wasn't even cold -- it felt a little like my bathtub at home. But it was very salty. When the waves came in, they splashed me and even hit my face. But my hair didn't get wet, because I was wearing a blue hat like my daddy's hat.
Daddy and mommy and me went on walks in the mornings. I got to ride in the carrier and I saw big birds -- daddy called them long necks, and I saw shells and runners and the sunrise. It was so much fun.
Stay tuned for part two of the Lost Key adventure! Who knows, there might even be a pirate ship....

Mimi's visit

On July 4, my Mimi came to visit. Of course, I didn't get to play with her until July 5, because I was already asleep when dada brought her home from airport. But starting on Thursday, Mimi and I did all kinds of things together. She played with me and she fed me lots of formula. She also bought me some new bibs.

We also went to the wading pool at Phelps Grove Park. It is near our new house. I had so much fun. I played with Mimi and I played with a beach ball. And sometimes I played with Mimi and with the beach ball at the same time. On Saturday, my dada went to the pool with us. It was so hot outside, and the pool cooled us off.

4th of July fun - a Picnic and Fireworks

On July 4, my daddy, mommy, Doll, and Granddad took me to the pool. After we went swimming, we had a picnic -- I ate all kinds of yummy stuff -- part of a hamburger, a few little pieces of chicken, and some broccoli. I even ate some baby food. The picnic was very funny because we ate on a hill and daddy kept falling backwards off his chair.
We took some 4th of July family pictures before the picnic.
My daddy and I played in the kiddie pool. I splashed the water and splashed Doll. I made her laugh.
Don't you like my hat? It kept me from getting sunburned. It was very hot at the pool.
I took some pictures with Granddad and Doll. I kept trying to grab Granddad's glasses. I don't know why he doesn't want me to play with them.
After the picnic, we went to a party at Granddad and Doll's friends' house. Then I went to sleep in my pack and play. All of a sudden, there were really loud noises outside. I was so scared. Somebody said that the noises were fireworks. But mommy came and held me and I went back to sleep. As long as mommy is holding me, who cares if there are loud noises outside...
I hope your 4th of July was as fun as mine was. Happy Birthday America!

My First Ride in Granddad's Boat

On Monday afternoon, I had a big adventure. Me, my daddy, my mommy, and Doll and Granddad went out on Granddad's boat on Table Rock lake. Doll held me while Granddad drove the boat. It was very windy. But my hat kept the sun out of my eyes and the wind out of my hair. Doll didn't have a hat to keep the wind out of her hair!

My mommy waterskied and I watched her the whole time. My daddy got in the water with Doll and then he put me in the water. It was so much fun. But I really didn't like the lifejacket because it made it hard for me to smile.

Later, Doll let me play with her watch. She's lucky I didn't throw it in the lake (I tried, but I don't throw very far yet. Daddy's working on that.)
